How I got Started

Simone
Simone is my first Boston Terrier, she was from a back yard breeder and isn't AKC quality. She has always been a bit timid and scared and she doesn't like to be touched much. She barks at all strangers and won't let them pet her. She was extremely hard to potty train, continuing to have accidents until she was almost 2. At that point I got a doggy door and put in a fenced yard in order to help her with this. At around 1.5 years old her haircoat started thinning out and her ears never quite stood up on their own. Her tail is quite short and dips down internally right before her anus, which may have contributed to her potty training issues. She is an amazing, cute, snorty, loving and funny dog at home and I love the heck out of her. She's just my shy girl. I wanted to start breeding when I got her, but as you can see, she wasn't quite good enough stock and so I had her spayed. With all of these problems I knew that she just didn't have great genetics and didn't get the best nutrition as a puppy. I take her to a Holistic Veterinarian now where she gets chinese herbs to help support her deficiencies and acupuncture, which has greatly improved her hair coat and sensitivity and potty training problems. I also home cook for her and all my other dogs to provide the best diet possible for them. You'll see Simone in the pictures above with submissive ears, she's my only other Boston Terrier other that my new breeding girl Rosie so far.

Bred and Raised without Compromise

My Breeding
I found my new AKC registered Boston Terrier female Rosie through a show contact and fell in love with her face. I love her longer nose, she came from a mom who free whelps, she has a wonderful slightly longer tail that comes straight out off her spine, her ears stick up perfectly and she is the most calm puppy I have ever had. She is exactly what I was looking for in a breeding female. With my Vet Tech background I find it very important for Boston Terriers to be able to breathe well and not be quite so brachecephalic. I feel like current breedings have caused the Boston Terrier to loose its vintage look. If you look at vintage pictures of Boston Terriers, they had a much longer nose. It is my goal to produce a slightly longer nose, but to also stay within the AKC standards of 1/3 the length of the head. All of my breeding females and males will have extensive testing done before breeding. BAER hearing tests, ACVO certified opthamologist eye exams, and OFA-CHIC Patella Certifiction as recommended by the AKC for breeding Boston Terriers. I may even do spinal radiographs and genetic testing just to cover all my bases. I will work extensively with puppies as they grow, giving them socialization with children, handling them often to learn their individual personalities, and starting potty training at a young age. I would like to try and place my puppies in the perfect homes for their individual personalities so as to reduce any need for re-homing. As stated in the contract, I will always accept/require the return of my puppies if there is the need for re-homing. They will always be considered a part of my family. I home cook for all my dogs, nutrition is very important to me. All puppies will be fed a mix of home cooked food and high quality store bought puppy food once they are weaned. I would love to talk about food options before you take your new puppy home, and will even give you the recipes I use. I always supplement with an appropriate vitamin and mineral to make sure my food is not lacking in anything.

My Breeding Females

- Dams -
Vintage Lovin' Briar Rose aka Rosie
Rosie is from Cocolamus Kennels in PA. Her sire is Ch Mack and Dam is Annika. When I saw her picture I completely fell in love with her face. She had a calm look to her eyes and the longer nose that I was looking for. She is an amazing puppy so far and I plan to have her start my breeding program. She is calm and sweet and loving and seems unfazed by anything. I think she will be a wonderful mom.
TBD
Will be getting another Cocolamus Mack and Annika female pup 2022.

My Breeding Male

- Sire -
TBD
Still on the search for the perfect male. Contact me if you have an AKC male stud that you would like to breed with Rosie. I would love to meet new Boston Terrier lovers and make more contacts.
